The time I spent at CORE as a doctoral student was a great learning experience. I was confronted with state-of-the-art research and learned how to deal with uncertainty and innovation. The multidisciplinary way of approaching things I found there is definitely a plus. An important feature of CORE is its interuniversity dimension and the presence of permanent members coming from both Belgian communities. Many ideas were exchanged during informal sessions and led to collaborations on topics of common interest. Thanks to one of these unplanned small collaborations, I discovered the world of electricity markets and started another life out of the university...
